The streets of South London, where roots and dancehall rub shoulders with Afro beat, hip hop and dub provides the source from whence Soothsayers' develop their unique, organic sound.
Their spell, once cast, should never be broken ... you're picked up and carried on a bewitching journey. Soothsayers are infectious, irresistibly funky, and above all, supremely musicianly. Fat, rootsy grooves with a sprinkling of afro jazz keep your feet moving, heart beating and soul alive.
Soothsayers released a new album 'One More Reason' early 2009 which features collaborations with reggae legend's Johnny Clarke, Linval Thompson and Michael Prophet and tracks given the full dub mix treatment by Mad Professor and Manasseh. The dub version of this, 'Red Earth Dub', was released early in 2010.
The band played festival shows to great acclaim in the UK and across Europe with Johnny Clarke and also in their own right, during the summers of 2010/11.
The beginning of October 2011 saw the release of a limited edition 7" on the 'We're Not Leaving' rhythm featuring Luton Fyah and Cornell Campbell. The band will be touring European festivals with the Studio 1 legend during the summer of 2012.
