Originally inspired by the music of the Baka forest people of Cameroon after spending time living with them in the rainforest, Baka Beyond has grown into an exhilarating multi-cultural live band. Their dynamic mix of song, melody and dance has been enjoyed by audiences throughout the world.
The band perform in various lineups; 'Baka 5' featuring Molara Awen on Vocals alongside Su and Nii Tagoe on Percussion and drumkit. A more expansive 7 piece show with Tim Robinson on Drums, Paddy Le Mercier on Fiddle and Denise Rowe on Vocals and Dance. After a great Summer at UK and North American festivals Baka Beyond are currently in the studio putting the finishing touches to their new album 'Kisumani' which will see a digital release in the Autumn of 2011 and a CD release in Spring 2012.
